"Without warning, it comes...crashing through the window of your study, and mine...I have seen it before...somewhere. It frightened me as a boy... frightened me. Yes, father. I shall become a bat." - Frank Miller
The iconic symbol of the dark knight interpretted as a fractal.
Additionally I should mention... Its far easier to draw something that looks like something recognizable, then figure out a way to do it as a fractal. I just happen to be exploring the possibilities of using fractals as a tool in order to facilitate concept work, logo design and the like. If you've been following along, I'm sure you've seen other "Wing" shapes I've been experimenting with. As a result, don't be surprised if you see this wing shape again in the near future.
Oh and if you are a part of the DC comics organization... and you are diggin on this... rock on, I've got a big collection, and year 1 is amongst my favs.
Well, yes and no... the Batman symbol is a bat generally placed on a yellow ellipse, though I've also seen it in red. Normally the "bat" is done in black to work with Batman's outfit. My version, clearly an interpretation of a bat, thus akin to the Batman symbol incorporates the traditional dark blue elements of the visual look of Batman, with highlights in yellow to draw upon the timeless symbol. Normally the Batman logo would have a sharp diamond like point at the bottom center, which I have omitted. One needs to be careful these days...perhaps there are one too many lawyers in the world. What is an artist to do? Glad you enjoyed it though. LoL
